My experiences started in the University of Manchester where I was studying natural history. It was after class May 22nd 18 hundred and 18, that professor Waldman, my close dear friend Henry Claval, and myself were in the laboratory of the university. The old shelf radio, next to the rusted push window on the far side of the room crackled to life. In later years, I would question how three men of science found it strange that a radio should turn itself on without the aid of a human hand, but not odd that there be a radio in our lab in the year 1818. We, collectively, sat on our stools staring at the sad piece of bakelite that was speaking to us. The man inside the small box informed us it was EMR. We listened in amazement.
